There are a number of youth ministries here in Honduras, but it many cases their meetings are exactly like a Sunday church service. They often use the same music and share the same messages in the same way a pastor would. While that time of worship is important, Youth For Christ tries to reach teens in a more
non-traditional way. Mauricio believes in using the music and the language of the younger generation to preach the Gospel. When Jesus walked the earth He used stories to teach people in ways they could understand and could relate to. Honduras Youth For Christ tries to follow that example.

This ministry is also not afraid to take on tough topics. One of the most successful events, year- in and year- out is when Mauricio teaching of Focus on the Family’s SEX: TRUTH AND LIES. Talking about abstinence is not always popular but he has a tremendous gift for getting kids to listen and learn.

God has told Mauricio the same thing he told Joshua:

"BE STRONG AND CORAGEOUS BECAUSE YOU WILL LEAD THE PEOPLE TO INHERIT THE LAND I SWORE TO THEIR FOREFATHERS TO GIVE THEM".
