Mission
We are committed to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all young people
and always seek to do so with urgency, using the most culturally acceptable presentations. We are further committed to partnering with others who desire to accomplish the same mission.
Mauricio and Ana Erazo became involved with Honduras Youth For Christ in 1995. At that point it was a group of people who met once a week to pray for the youth of Honduras. One year later in 1996. Mauricio and Ana took over the Youth For Christ Operation. They were literally handed a shoe box full of papers and from there, they have built an amazing ministry. The Erazos were running at restaurant at the time, which gave them great training for long hours, hard work, and dealing with the frustrations of a city with a sporadic public works system. The availability of water and electricity was never a certainty. The only thing that was certain is that the entire Erazo family would have to work as hard as they could to pay the bills. Well, God blessed their hard work with money enough to keep the restaurant going AND to open a small Youth For Christ House. Mauricio and Ana did both jobs for about one year until their family received devastating news: In 1996 Mauricio was diagnosed with lymphoma and given 10 months to live. As they prayed, God showed the couple it was time sell the restaurant. They opened up their home as a bed- and- breakfast for missionary teams and so
their full-time commitment to ministry began.
When Mauricio was 18 he, like many teens, was searching for greater meaning in his life. He came to the Lord at 16, but two years later, out of school with no job he was searching for direction. Mauricio turned to the Bible for comfort and for answers. It was MARK 16:15 that touched his heart; "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation". Mauricio knew that verse was meant for him...and because he was a teen himself when he came to Jesus, he knew this was the group that he would connect with in a special way.
